Some things don't change in La Paz, thank goodness!

This blog, as well as the earlier newsletters, have been dedicated to the many changes taking place in La Paz and at Maravia Country Club Estates, the premier residential development in this area. Progress and change can be good but there are some things that should not change and here is one area where we hope La Paz always stays the same - the magnificent sunsets!

It's no wonder that so many people gather on the Malecon every evening to see the sun descend and disappear below the horizon. Each day produces different colors and effects to wow the crowds. These two photos were taken on Saturday and are reminders of how beautiful this city can be. This is just one more reason to visit and enjoy La Paz and perhaps make it your home.

Wal-Mart and Sam's Club going up fast!

Construction of the new Wal-Mart/Sam's Club complex is progressing rapidly. The stores, which are located just past the Welcome Arch on the way in from the airport, are scheduled for opening in December and from the looks of things, they are going to make it.

The top picture shows the scene on September 4 and the second picture was taken just a month later; already the unmistakable Wal-Mart look is taking shape.
